Starting with a small packet of seeds, we were able to grow a small number of trees which eventually led to a small seedling planting in our non wetland soils. Surprisingly Chamaecyparis thyoides is a plant that can grow in a wide range of conditions far outside its native range and even thrive in our dry abandoned hay fields.
