This not-edible tomato is a robust plant with bright green leaves and tiny pea size green tomatoes. It was thought to be one of the progenitors of the modern tomato. Its insane growth as well as its bright foliage gives people a startle when they ask, "Is that a tomato"? It is but why? If someone were to cross it with a regular tomato, we would see tomatoes with a new lease on life which over the many years which have become rather straggly plants but with fantastic delicious fruit. Something the Neandertomato lacks-its not edible.
