Chinese Quince Seeds

Packet of 10 seeds, CHQU_S $3.80 Out of stock

A robust selection of a slightly hardier and fireblight resistant version of Chinese Quince. This species is well known for its mosaic bark and large fruits. Fairly easy to grow from seed.

To Germinate from Seed   Place the seed in a zip lock bag mixed with a slightly moist Canadian peat moss. Seeds can then be placed in the refrigerator for 90-120 days at 33-39F.   After refrigeration put at root temperature. Seeds will immediately sprout. Some sprouting may occur in the refrigerator as well. A clear viscous gel encapsulates the seeds. We spend a lot of time removing this but if the seeds seem slimy to you, then remvove from the refrigerator and wash  to remove the existing gel. The gel is not of concern but may cause issues in germination. Seedlings are quite vigorous and easy to get sizable seedlings in one year.
